Lesson from Maagh (by: Gurmeet Kaur)

Lesson from Maagh  (Jan 14 – Feb 12, of Nanakshahi 554)

By:  Gurmeet Kaur (info@pippal.org via sendinblue.com)

Traditionally, Maagh is the month of spiritual cleansing in the Indian subcontinent and people thought it was important to make pilgrimages to Prayag and Tribeni (confluences of the rivers that are considered sacred in Hindu traditions) to redeem them of their sins. Guru Sahib presents that a person who has recognized her inner being as the greatest center of pilgrimage and makes a journey to bathe in its stillness – loses herself but finds everything…May we all make that journey. I hope the following trans-interpretation of the Bara Maha in Raag Tukhari by Guru Nanak will enrich your celebration of the day.
